Job summary

LAUKOA in New London, CT is seeking an IT Specialist to maintain museum information technology gallery and theater systems, public-facing connectivity, and digital infrastructure, ensuring high uptime and security.

You will monitor internal/public networks, support AV and digital displays, assist with backups, permissions onboarding/offboarding, and collaborate with the AV Media Specialist to sustain media distribution while protecting sensitive resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 3–6 years of systems administration or technical support experience; high uptime environment preferred.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain internal and public networks including VLAN, VPN, Wi‑Fi, and cloud/hybrid systems.
• Perform backups, data protection, hardware maintenance, and incident response tasks.
• Manage onboarding/offboarding requests per approved procedures; limit access within delegated authority.
• Provide technical support for gallery/theater presentation, streaming, lighting control, and AV systems.
• Collaborate with AV Media Specialist to sustain digital displays and high‑bandwidth media distribution.
• Maintain visitor Wi‑Fi while ensuring separation from protected internal resources.
