Job summary

LAUKOA seeks an IT Specialist to support museum IT, gallery and theater systems, and public connectivity in New London, CT. On-site role focused on secure, reliable digital infrastructure and high-uptime operations.

The candidate will manage networks, backups, and user accounts, collaborate with AV staff, and ensure safe visitor Wi‑Fi, while complying with government procedures and cybersecurity controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of systems administration or technical support experience; museum, library, gallery, public-attraction, or high-uptime experience preferred.
• Industry-standard certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+.
• Proficiency supporting Windows and macOS environments, network infrastructure, cybersecurity controls, cloud/SaaS platforms, and AV-adjacent hardware.

Responsibilities

• Support museum IT, gallery and theater systems, public connectivity, and digital infrastructure.
• Maintain secure, high-uptime systems within the Contractor’s scope and cybersecurity requirements.
• Monitor and maintain networks: VLAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, workstations, and approved cloud/hybrid systems.
• Perform backups, restoration, data-protection, hardware-maintenance, and incident-support tasks.
• Process and track accounts, permissions, onboarding, and off-boarding per government procedures.
• Provide technical support for gallery, theater, presentation, streaming, lighting-control, and museum-event systems.
• Collaborate with AV Media Specialist to sustain displays, sensors, interactive components, and high-bandwidth media distribution.
• Maintain visitor Wi-Fi with required separation from protected internal resources.
