Job summary

Florida State University, through The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, seeks an OPS/temporary Guest Services Assistant to support visitors and staff during events.

The role includes posts on museum grounds, safety monitoring, and emergency response. Hours are 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, 28 hours per week, with weekends and holidays possible. Requires a high school diploma and a Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or ability to obtain prior to hire.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; ascend/descend stairs; work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests and ensure a high level of customer service.
• Support staff at museum posts and events on grounds and buildings.
• Patrol buildings and grounds to ensure safety and protect the collection.
• Monitor for safety issues and emergencies; assist in evacuations if needed.
