Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Visitor Experience Assistant for the KU Natural History Museum in Dyche Hall. You will greet visitors, answer questions in person, on the phone, or by email, and assist with tours, opening/closing duties, and special events.

You will also stock the gift shop, handle sales, balance cash, and support other staff as needed. Eligible candidates must be available weekends, breaks, and summer, with student hourly terms and remote work not available.

Qualifications

• Excellent communications skills evidenced in application materials.
• Experience handling money/cash register is required.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse populations.
• Detail-oriented work experience as evidenced by materials.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage visitors, process admission and memberships, answer questions, schedule groups, and open/close museum.
• Restock gift shop, process sales, balance cash drawer, prepare deposits, and monitor galleries.
