Job summary

The National WWII Museum in New Orleans is seeking a Custodian/Event-Set-Up Personnel to perform daily and nightly cleaning and event setup duties. Reporting to the Custodial and Event Set-Up Manager, you will handle floor care, restroom cleaning, and setup/breakdown of tables and chairs during events.

Applicants should have at least six months of custodial or related experience, reliable attendance, and the ability to work overtime for events.

Qualifications

• Must have six months minimum experience in custodial, housekeeping or related work.
• Ability to perform routine custodial tasks according to schedules.
• Familiarity with cleaning procedures and custodial equipment.
• Able to work overtime during events or busy periods.
• Reliable and regular attendance.
• Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial tasks per established schedules.
• Execute floor care including buffing, sealing, stripping and carpet care.
• Clean and maintain engraved bricks and furnishings.
• Assist in event set-up and breakdown of tables and chairs.
• Ensure museum security during cleaning when closed.
• Maintain light maintenance input to facilities staff as needed.
• General cleaning of restrooms, dusting, vacuuming and glass surfaces.
