Job summary

The National Geographic Society is seeking an Exhibit Production Manager to lead fabrication, installation and maintenance of museum and traveling exhibitions at the Base Camp campus. You will supervise Fabrication Specialists, coordinate with carpenters, engineers and the Printing Lab, and ensure safe, efficient operations across on-site facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or relevant experience required.
  • 7+ years in technical exhibitions operations.
  • 3+ years of team management experience.
  • Ability to work cross-departmentally and lead a team.
  • Experience with budgeting, contracting and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily exhibits operations, logistics, scheduling and digital archive.
  • Oversee vendors, subcontractors and security for exhibits.
  • Coordinate fabrication needs and maintenance for the Museum of Exploration.
  • Plan future Museum and Traveling exhibitions with staff.
  • Support production, shipping and condition reporting for traveling exhibits.
  • Manage workshop fabrication areas and off-site storage operations.
  • Develop and oversee IPM plan for workshop and on-site storage.
