Job summary

The Education Department of the Yale Center for British Art (YCBA) seeks an Educator for secondary school, college, and university audiences, to build partnerships with Greater New Haven schools and colleges and to develop opportunities for curricula, teacher training, and engagement with YCBA collections.

Reporting to the Head of Education, the Educator will expand programs, mentor students and interns, and foster cross-institutional collaborations that support teaching with objects and gallery

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Arts, Art History, Education or related field and five years of professional museum experience in education or curatorial roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of one or more collection areas.

Responsibilities

  • Strategizes and advocates for integration of a collection into teaching across Yale curriculum.
  • Oversees programs supporting faculty teaching from original works of art.
  • Develops collaborations with departments and programs for teaching with collections.
  • Conceives and facilitates object study sessions with faculty collaborations.
  • Prepares research to support best practices in teaching with objects.
