Job summary

Agua Caliente Band Of Cahuilla Indians is seeking a Museum Educator to deliver educational tours, workshops, and lessons for diverse learners. You will interpret the Museum’s collection through gallery carts and assist with planning and day-of execution for school and public programs.

The role involves coordinating weekend and evening programs, outreach initiatives, and collaborative work with Education and Public Engagement teams to support the Museum’s mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent preferred, with relevant teaching experience.
• Experience in formal or informal educational settings (volunteer experience ok).
• Interest in teaching children and families to create positive museum experiences.
• Ability to manage large groups of children, parents, and chaperones.

Responsibilities

• Provides a friendly, welcoming presence for all guests while guiding learning about Agua Caliente history and culture.
• Assists with development and implementation of K-12 object-based museum programs.
• Facilitates school programs in and out of the Museum.
• Provides input for development of school programs, gallery guides, and educational content.
• Supports Museum programs in collaboration with Education and Public Engagement staff.
• Leads and assists with summer camp groups and workshops.
• Collaborates with staff to support the Museum’s mission and initiatives.
• Works with Visitor Services to ensure a positive visitor experience.
• Interacts with visitors using objects and gallery carts across spaces.
• Delivers group tours to youth and adult audiences at the Museum and surrounding trails.
