350 HISTORICAL SOCIETY’s Oklahoma History Center Museum in Oklahoma City seeks a Student & Teacher Educator and Volunteer Coordinator to lead educational programming for students and teachers while managing the volunteer program. You will develop engaging learning experiences and collaborate with schools, community groups, and volunteers to support lifelong learning and visitor engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, museum studies, history, public history, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience developing or delivering educational programs; classroom experience preferred.
  • Experience recruiting, coordinating, or managing volunteers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate educational programs for students, educators, and community groups, including field trips, tours, classroom programs, living history/interpretive presentations, and outreach activities.
  • Create and maintain curricula, lesson plans, e-exhibits, traveling trunks with the support of the Trunk Coordinator, and other educational resources.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, and community organizations to expand education opportunities.
  • Coordinate teacher workshops and professional development, serving as museum liaison for the Teacher of the Year program.
  • Evaluate programs and prepare related reports, statistics, and grant documentation.
  • Lead volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention in support of OHS/OHC programs.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for volunteer applications, inquiries, and assignments.
