The Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Division of Museums and History, is seeking to fill their Museum Attendant 1- Part Time position at the Lost City Museum in Overton. The Museum Attendant I performs a variety of customer service and operational duties, including conducting sales and handling money using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system in the museum store, interacting regularly with the public and occasionally with large school groups, and managing store inventory by reordering items, researching new products, counting stock, reconciling invoices, preparing reports, and accessing inventory that may require bending, stooping, or climbing a small ladder. Additional responsibilities include staffing the admissions desk, opening and closing registers, answering and routing calls, cleaning spills and maintaining a tidy, well-stocked museum store. The role also requires use of a computer to access email and process orders for the museum’s online store, including occasional phone orders, with all orders shipped within three days of receipt. The attendant will respond to customer service inquiries related to the online store via email and phone. This position works a variable schedule from Thursday through Sunday and is required to work some holidays and evenings.
Museum Attendants assist visitors at museums and provide information and directions as requested; perform routine security activities to ensure the safety of visitors and protection of assets and exhibits.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience working with the public; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
