Job summary

The Baltimore Museum of Art seeks a Museum Security Officer to manage access control, monitor CCTV, and maintain a professional presence protecting staff, visitors, and artworks. This full-time role requires excellent customer service and teamwork in a fast-paced museum environment.

The position reports to Security Managers and Director of Security with overtime and shift flexibility across days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent or experience.
• Experience in a museum or cultural institution is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Control entry/exit points and verify credentials.
• Operate access control and surveillance equipment.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter theft and protect artwork.
• Provide welcoming, professional service to visitors and staff.
• Respond to alarms and security incidents promptly.
• Coordinate with Security and Visitor Experience teams.
