Farnsworth Group, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineer for its Municipal Group to join a team that plans, designs and manages water and wastewater construction projects for municipalities and private clients. You will mentor staff, coordinate with civil teams, and maintain relationships with authorities.

The role emphasizes project management, technical design, and business development within Illinois, with a hybrid work option and growth opportunities across 24 offices.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• 8–15 years municipal, water and wastewater engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Project management experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Sewer and water main design experience
• Experience with local and state government organizations
• Familiar with Illinois EPA permitting and funding processes
• Enthusiasm for business development

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, permit, fund, and construct municipal projects
• Mentor staff and collaborate with Civil team/offices
• Maintain relationships with state and local authorities
• Communicate with clients regarding current and future projects
• Attend city staff and council/board meetings as necessary
• Support municipal project development
• Assist with client development and business development efforts
