Job summary

Columbia Threadneedle Investments in Boston seeks a Municipal Bonds Trader responsible for executing purchase and sales of tax-exempt securities under direction of portfolio managers and senior traders. You will assist PMs in surveillance, execute cash trades for SMA, mutual funds, and institutional accounts, and act as interface between trading desk and internal/external constituencies.

The role requires 1–2 years trading municipal bonds, strong communication, analytical and time-management

Qualifications

• 1–2 years trading experience in municipal bonds preferred.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.
• Rigorous attention to detail and good time management.
• Comfortable working on a trading desk in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute purchase and sale orders of tax-exempt fixed income securities for SMA, institutional and municipal accounts.
• Assist Portfolio Managers with daily surveillance of SMA & Institutional Fixed Income Accounts and communicate key relative value.
• Execute cash trades for SMA, Mutual Funds & Institutional accounts.
• Serve as interface between trading team and internal/external stakeholders.
