Job summary

Town of Fort Mill is seeking a Risk Manager to develop and oversee the Town's comprehensive risk management and safety programs. You will identify and mitigate operational, liability, property, and workplace risks while managing insurance and claims programs.

The role requires coordinating regulatory compliance, designing training, and promoting a culture of safety to protect employees, citizens and assets. A strong background in risk management and relevant certifications is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as listed; four years of complex risk management or related experience.
• Professional designations preferred (ARM/RMP/RIMS-CRMP/CSP)
• Experience in vendor oversight, financial analysis or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and manages the Risk Management Division including liability, workers' compensation, safety, loss prevention, vendors and brokers.
• Manages liability and workers' compensation claims; authorizes care, settlements and payments within limits; supports legal defense and compliance.
• Conducts risk assessments of facilities, operations, equipment, events and projects; recommends loss reduction strategies.
• Designs training programs on risk management, OSHA policies, workplace safety and emergency procedures.
• Establishes safety/risk policies and budgets; tracks legal developments and maintains certifications.
