Job summary

Garver, an award-winning national full-service firm, seeks a Municipal Project Manager to join our Transportation Team in Overland Park, KS or Kansas City, MO. You will oversee project management, schedule tasks, coordinate sub-consultants, and lead civil design efforts to deliver high-quality transportation projects.

The ideal candidate holds a ABET-accredited civil engineering degree and a PE license in Missouri and Kansas (or reciprocity).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Missouri and Kansas, or ability to obtain reciprocity.
• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
• Practical working knowledge of AASHTO Green Book, Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD.
• Experience with roadway design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, InRoads).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Project management of municipal transportation initiatives.

• Prepare cost estimates and perform quality control.
• Training other engineers and ensuring client relationship building.

• Technical experience should include:
  • Geometric design for roadways/intersections
  • 3‑D design experience

  • Construction sequencing and traffic control
• Marketing activities may include assisting in proposal production, participating in interviews, and other presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Missouri and Kansas, or ability to obtain reciprocity
• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience
• Practical working knowledge of the AASHTO Green Book, the Roadside Design Guide, and the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD)
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, or other roadway design software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office

Preferred Skills

• Previous consulting engineering experience focused on Kansas City Metro and/or Missouri municipal clients
• 3‑D design experience
• Utility relocation coordination experience
