Job summary

City of Venice is seeking a Level I (Grade 118) maintenance worker to perform unskilled to semi-skilled manual labor and skilled tasks in operations and property maintenance as assigned. You will operate motorized equipment, transport materials, and support daily city services in various weather conditions.

Requirements include a High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Florida driver’s license; candidates must understand and follow instructions, maintain records, and uphold safety

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Florida Driver’s license without major violations or able to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to operate motorized equipment.
• Awareness of hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Operate motorized construction, maintenance and landscape equipment as assigned.
• Transport supplies, tools, or other material to and from job site.
• Perform installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of department components as directed.
• Maintain records and report forms required by the City and regulatory agencies.
