Job summary

The City of Arlington is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Inspector to oversee contracted grounds maintenance across City assets, ensuring compliance with specifications and performance expectations. Responsibilities include inspecting work, documenting issues, and verifying corrective actions while coordinating traffic control plans and maintaining detailed records.

The role requires knowledge of turf management, safety practices, and the ability to operate a vehicle and interact with the public

Qualifications

Knowledge of grounds maintenance practices and materials.
Knowledge of turf management principles and weed identification.
Ability to read and interpret contract specifications.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

Inspect workmanship, materials, and service quality for all contracted grounds maintenance activities.
Issue punch-list items, document corrective actions, and verify completion.
Establish and monitor traffic control plans per TMUTCD and City guidelines.
Maintain detailed project documentation including photos, videos, and expenditures.
Communicate effectively with citizens, contractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve concerns.
