Job summary

City of Arlington is seeking a supervisor to coordinate the care and maintenance of golf course greens, tees, fairways, and park sites. The role trains staff, manages turf maintenance programs, and oversees irrigation and equipment handling.

Qualifications

  • Requires an associate degree in turfgrass management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years in golf course operations or related agronomic fields.
  • Valid Texas Class C driver’s license and pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and train staff for golf course and park maintenance work.
  • Develop recommendations for staff performance evaluations.
  • Plan and direct irrigation, turf, and equipment maintenance projects.
  • Inspect the course to guide redesign for better playability and customer service.
  • Prepare budgets, requisition supplies, and monitor expenditures.
  • Supervise crews on mowing, tree work, fertilizing, and turf maintenance.
