Job summary

City of Lake Charles, Louisiana is seeking a Foreman to supervise daily work assignments for crews of Large Equipment Operators and General Maintenance Workers. The Foreman will participate in the work he supervises, under general direction.

A valid CDL with endorsements is required. The role involves coordinating maintenance of City properties, scheduling tasks, recording work activities, ensuring safety, and supervising 4–20 staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six months to one year related experience and/or training.
• A CDL with appropriate endorsements is required.
• Ability to supervise crews and manage daily work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crews of Large Equipment Operators and General Maintenance Workers.
• Assign work schedules and monitor completion of routes and tasks.
• Maintain records of time and location of work performed.
• Promote safety and improved work procedures.
• Supervise trash and garbage pickups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
