City of St Joseph is seeking an experienced finance leader to manage daily accounting, payroll, utility billing and purchasing for the division. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with municipal accounting principles, and guide the annual budget and financial reporting processes.

You will coordinate audits, support financial planning, and act as a resource to management and external consultants. Strong communication and oversight skills are essential in this on-site role.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area.
• Advanced degree in a related discipline is desirable; CPA preferred.
• CPFO certification required or must obtain within one year of hire.
• Eight+ years of governmental accounting and finance experience with supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee daily accounting, utility billing, payroll and purchasing functions.
• Ensure compliance with generally accepted municipal accounting principles.
• Oversee annual audits and assist in budgeting processes.
• Develop division budgets and coordinate with management.
• Prepare financial statements and cost reports for management.
• Serve as a financial resource to management and external consultants.
• Coordinate with MIS and other departments for accounting systems.
• Attend internal and external meetings; perform related duties.
