S&P Global Ratings seeks a junior Rating Analyst to conduct credit analysis for cities, counties, school districts, and related issuers within the Americas Public Finance team. You will develop independent, committee-ready opinions and contribute to market research.

This role emphasizes analytical rigor, written and verbal communication, and participation in rating committees. Collaboration with issuers and investors will be routine, with clear paths for upward mobility based on performance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in public finance or local government credit analysis.
• Demonstrated credit analysis and financial statement analysis skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication for committee presentations and reports.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary analyst on credit transactions for local government issuers.
• Conduct financial statement analysis and assess fiscal health and credit risk factors.
• Publish timely credit reports and contribute to research on municipal bonds.
• Present findings to committees and participate in investor calls.
• Mentor teammates and help improve analytical workflows.
