Fitch Ratings in Chicago seeks an Analyst or Senior Analyst for US Public Finance Local Government to support rating decisions. You will analyze factors, review financial documentation, and interact with issuers and fiscal agents to ensure accurate ratings.

The role offers a hybrid work model with three in-office days weekly and opportunities for growth within a global ratings organization. A background in public finance and strong communication are essential.

Competenze

• 3 years of relevant research or analytical experience in U.S. public finance.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mansioni

• Analyze quantitative and qualitative factors to prepare Fitch’s Local Government Rating Model for assigning new and monitoring existing ratings
• Review annual comprehensive financial reports, budgets, capital plans and other public disclosure statements
• Identify rating-relevant issues for review by the analytical team and rating committee
• Meet with issuers and their fiscal agents during management meetings
• Present rating recommendations and serve as voting member on rating committees
• Support publication of rating action commentaries, research reports and Fitch Wires
• Attend industry events and interact with investors, bankers, and other market participants
