Job summary

Fishbeck in Lansing, MI is seeking a Municipal Civil Engineer to support the Municipal team in planning and designing water mains, sewers, and roads for local municipalities. You will collaborate with multiple departments to develop proposals and deliver multidisciplinary projects.

The role requires 5+ years of design experience and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with MDOT specifications knowledge being a plus.

Qualifications

• FE/EIT certification or exam passed.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
• 5+ years of experience designing water mains, sanitary sewers and roads.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with MDOT specifications and MDOT Local Agency Program is a plus.
• Strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design for water main, sanitary and storm sewer, and road projects for local municipalities.
• Perform design calculations, quantify bid items, develop cost estimates, execute CAD drafting, and prepare reports.
• Specify project-specific technical specifications, drawings, and Maintenance of Traffic.
• Assist in bidding and construction phase services on municipal projects including RFIs, shop drawing review, and as-built drawings.
• Work closely with other technical staff across Fishbeck offices to provide consulting engineering services.
• Interact daily with project teams in a multi-discipline and multi-office environment.
