Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Municipal Civil Engineer to join our Farmington Hills office. You'll plan and design municipal water, sewer, and road projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver local infrastructure with accuracy and compliance.

Ideal candidates will have FE (EIT) certification, 5+ years of municipal design experience, strong CAD/Civil 3D skills, and knowledge of MDOT specifications. Excellent communication is essential for cross-office coordination.

Qualifications

• FE (EIT) exam completed or in progress.
• PE licensure is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience designing water mains, sanitary sewers, and roads.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with MDOT Construction and Material Specifications and Local Agency Program is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and road projects for local municipalities.
• Perform design calculations, quantify bid items, develop cost estimates, and prepare reports.
• Specify project-specific technical specifications and standard drawings.
• Assist in bidding and construction phase services including RFIs and as-built drawings.
• Collaborate with staff across Fishbeck offices to deliver consulting engineering services.
• Interact daily with project teams in a multi-discipline, multi-office environment.
