Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Municipal Civil Engineer to plan, design, and manage water, wastewater, and street projects for local and government agencies in Illinois. This role is based in one of the posting locations: Champaign, Effingham, Normal, Peoria, or Pontiac, IL.

You will collaborate with clients and agencies, conduct field work, and prepare construction documents while ensuring project success and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.
• 2–5 years civil engineering experience.
• FE or PE certification or in progress.
• Experience with IDOT, MFT and local agency projects.
• Experience with state and local authorities.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D.
• Office and field construction engineering and observation.
• Strong management, communication, and organization skills.

Job description

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Municipal Civil Engineer in one of the posting locations below. In this role, you will be focused on the planning, design, and management of various civil engineering projects including water/wastewater/stormwater for local and government agencies.

Posting Locations for this role: Champaign, Effingham, Normal, Peoria, or Pontiac, IL

What You'll Do

• Manage, support and build relationships with clients and agencies
• Work with a variety of projects for municipal client needs related to water, sewer and streets
• Conduct field inspections, measurements or calculations
• Perform condition assessments
• Prepare and develop construction, design documents and plans
• Manage projects and programs from inception to completion

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
• 2 – 5 years of Civil Engineering experience
• FE or PE Certification, or expected to be obtained
• Experience with IDOT, MFT and local agency projects
• Experience or understanding of working with state and local authorities
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
• Ability to work both in the office and field for construction engineering and observation
• Management, communication, and organization skills

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
