Job summary

The City of Auburn seeks a municipal Attorney to serve as a member of the City’s executive management team and lead by example in public service. The ideal candidate will practice law before state and federal courts, provide strategic guidance, and oversee City legal matters with integrity and professionalism.

Minimum qualifications include ABA-accredited law school graduation, WA licensure, and seven years of municipal law experience with leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of Washington at the time of appointment.
• Seven (7) years of municipal law experience with progressively responsible leadership and management experience.

Responsibilities

• Counsel to the Mayor, City Council, staff, committees and commissions.
• Provide legal advice to guide City policies, decisions and activities.
• Supervise and direct representation of the City in court and administrative hearings.
