Job summary

The Town of Belgrade, Maine is seeking a qualified Town Manager to serve as the chief administrative officer, overseeing day-to-day municipal operations and implementing policies set by the Select Board. Responsibilities include administering daily operations, preparing the annual budget, preparing agendas for meetings, ensuring compliance with regulations, and communicating with residents and staff.

This leadership role requires five years of municipal government experience and strong budgeting

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in municipal government, preferably as Town Manager or an elected Selectboard member.
• Knowledge of municipal government functions and budgeting, including experience with non-profit accounting and TRIO software.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with elected officials, staff and volunteers and to interact effectively with the public.

Responsibilities

• Administer daily operations of town government.
• Prepare and manage the annual municipal budget.
• Prepare agendas and supplementary materials for Select Board meetings, attend Select Board and other appropriate meetings.
• Ensure town remains compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and officials.
• Oversee municipal contracts, apply for applicable grants, and manage capital improvement projects.
