Job summary

CITY OF ZION is seeking an Account Technologist in the Accounts and Finance Department. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role processes payables, maintains receivable records, and assists with utility billing for water, sewer, and garbage services.

The position offers benefits such as medical/dental/life insurance, IMRF, and paid holidays, sick, and vacation time. Strong customer service and Spanish language skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge/skills equivalent to 2 years of accounting/business college courses or 5 years accounting experience
• Familiarity with BS&A, MSI/Harris software and MS Office
• Public-sector/municipal office experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions
• Maintain accounts receivable records and reports
• Assist with utility billing for water, sewer, and garbage services
• Perform cash handling and receipting duties
• Prepare, analyze and interpret financial reports and records
• Perform filing and maintenance of accounting/financial records
• Respond to public inquiries professionally
• Other duties within Accounts & Finance Department as required
