Qualifications

• Three (3) years of work experience, or its part-time equivalent, assisting in semiskilled or skilled maintenance tasks as helper to journey-level employees.
• Must possess a valid New York State Non-CDL or CDL, including any endorsements, as required for the vehicle operated.

Responsibilities

• Repairs doors, window sash, storm windows, screens, locks and other door hardware.
• Repairs wood, plastic and metal furniture and modifies furniture for user needs.
• Perform less complex plumbing tasks including replacement/repair or installation with provided layouts.
• Operate and maintain heating and hot water equipment and check oil levels.
• Patch brick/stonework, lay brick or stone on a repair basis, and repair plaster walls.
• Assist in repair/overhaul of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Repair and rebuild roofs of various materials; install hinges and hardware fixtures as needed.
