Job summary

The Department of Corrections in Lovelock, NV is seeking a Maintenance Repair Specialist 2 to perform skilled work across two or more trades. The role repairs, constructs, and maintains buildings, grounds, and equipment at Lovelock Correctional Center or Carlin Conservation Camp.

Responsibilities span plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and equipment maintenance, with possible lead-worker duties and supervision of inmates or staff as assigned.

Qualifications

• Four years of journey level experience in two or more trades.
• Experience laying out jobs, ordering materials, and guiding related tasks.
• Ability to work in plumbing, carpentry, electrical and related trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled plumbing work to maintain, repair, and modify plumbing systems.
• Perform skilled carpentry work to construct, maintain, repair, and modify facilities.
• Perform skilled electrical work including wiring and troubleshooting.
• Perform skilled painting work on surfaces and fixtures.
• Repair and overhaul equipment including transmissions and hydraulic systems.
• May supervise semi-skilled or inmate staff and maintain maintenance records.
