Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking a mid-level maintenance employee to perform semi-skilled work across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting and mechanical repair in state facilities. You may supervise offender workers and report to a designated supervisor.

Responsibilities include painting surfaces, plaster patching, carpentry, plumbing repairs, replacing fixtures, and basic electrical motor work.

Qualifications

• Must have 18 years or older with 2+ years of experience in listed maintenance functions or completion of a relevant technical training program.

Responsibilities

• Paint building surfaces and equipment
• Patch plastering walls
• Carpentry work on furniture, doors, windows, shelves and floors
• Plumbing tasks such as unstopping toilets and drains; replace faucets/valves/washers
• Repair water line leaks
• Replace light bulbs/outlets/switches
• Limited repairs of electrical motors/generators/communication equipment
• Operate tractors, mowers, skid steers and other grounds equipment
