Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Foundation in California seeks a Medical Assistant (MA) to support patients and the care team, streamline clinic operations, and enhance patient flow in a fast-paced setting.

You will prepare patient charts, document EMR entries, assist with examinations, measure vital signs, administer prescribed meds, and coordinate with pharmacies and insurers under SEIU-UHW representation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military equivalent is required.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 familiarity, and pharmacology appropriate to MA scope.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive patient charts and ensure accurate EMR entries.
• Support multiple patients daily and facilitate clinic flow.
• Assist in exams and procedures and measure vital signs.
• Maintain sterile, organized clinical environment.
• Coordinate with pharmacies and insurance for medication authorizations.
