Every is reimagining back-office operations for startups. We seek a Payroll Tax Specialist to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll tax operations across states and jurisdictions.

The role blends hands-on payroll with deep knowledge of employer tax requirements, registrations, notices, and quarterly/year-end filings. You’ll partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate tax setup and reporting, advise on moves and nexus, and support audits and year-end

Qualificações

• 2+ years of payroll experience with multi-state exposure.
• 3+ years of payroll tax experience (registrations, filings, notices, reconciliations).
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax rules.
• Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, Gusto, Workday, UKG, etc.).

Responsabilidades

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Monitor changes affecting payroll tax obligations.
• Ensure accurate calculation, withholding, and remittance of payroll taxes.
• Review payroll runs for tax accuracy across multi-state/local setups.
• Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and vendors on tax setups and reporting.
• Assist with audits, data requests, and compliance reviews.
• Prepare and file quarterly/annual payroll tax returns and reconciliations.
• Support W-2 and 1099 year-end processes.
