Job summary

HUB International is seeking a Tax Services Consultant to manage a diverse, multi-jurisdictional client portfolio, focusing on payroll tax registrations, notices, audits, and compliance across multiple states and localities.

You will engage with HR and executive leadership, translate complex tax issues into actionable business terms, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate, timely outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax compliance experience (registrations, notice resolution, audits)
• Strong understanding of state, and local payroll tax rules and filing calendars
• Client-facing experience with HR and executive leadership
• Experience with one or more payroll platforms (ADP, UKG, Paylocity, Dayforce) and with state payroll tax agency portals
• Basic to Intermediate Excel Skills (pivots, v-lookups)

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned client portfolio by monitoring HCM systems and communications for actionable items
• Provide clear, ongoing status updates to clients and lead tax discussions with clients
• Register and maintain payroll tax accounts across state/local jurisdictions
• Support mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and FEIN/entity changes
• Resolve payroll tax notices and coordinate responses with agencies
• Conduct payroll tax audits and ensure compliance with HCM records
