Job summary

Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS) seeks an entry level clinical pharmacist to join the Department of Pharmacy. You will support medication management, safety, and patient care under supervision, working as part of a high reliability organization.

The ideal candidate Graduation from a College of Pharmacy with B.S. or PharmD, Connecticut license or eligible, and strong communication skills. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or PharmD degree.
• Current Connecticut Pharmacist License, or eligible for licensure in Connecticut.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics and pharmacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate CHAMP behaviors and promote patient safety and service quality.
• Conduct timely, accurate medication order review considering patient labs and vital signs.
• Demonstrate competency with pharmacy automation and technology.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
• Provide education and training to pharmacy staff, students, and residents.
• Contribute to departmental cost-reduction and revenue-generation efforts.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or PharmD degree

Experience

Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience is desirable, but not required. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

LICENSURE

Current Connecticut Pharmacist License, or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Connecticut

Special Skills

This individual should demonstrate basic knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics, and understand pharmacy systems of drug distribution and formulary management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with others are required.
