Job summary

Cardinal Health’s cCARE Fresno is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support. You will room patients, assist physicians, administer medications, perform EKGs, and document in the EMR while maintaining infection control standards.

This position requires MA credentials, BLS/CPR, and experience in outpatient settings with strong communication and organizational skills. The role is on-site in Fresno with benefits and a clear career path.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant diploma or certification is required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification is highly preferred.
• Two years of Medical Assistant experience is highly preferred.
• Oncology knowledge is preferred.
• Experience in a specialty clinic or outpatient setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and injections as directed and within scope of practice.
• Perform EKGs, specimen collection, wound care, and other clinical procedures as assigned.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR.
• Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and obtain insurance authorizations.
• Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
• Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain infection control standards.
• Float between multiple specialty departments based on staffing needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
