Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in North Carolina to perform rooming and vital signs, medical history, and health screenings, and assist providers with procedures. The role includes lab work, POCT, immunizations, and coordinating referrals.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; program-specific certifications and facility competency may be required by division. This is an on-site position with Atrium Health.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.

Responsibilities

Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, screenings, and allergy review.
Assists provider with procedures and lab duties including venipuncture and specimen handling.
Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
Performs other duties: refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
Cross trained for duties across clinic practice.
Exhibits effective communication and teamwork.
