Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care to patients under the supervision of a physician or provider, reflecting our patient-centered approach and teamwork. The role supports the care delivery team and ensures a positive image of the practice.

Requires CT/NY licensure, a LPN diploma and a high school diploma. Two years of medical practice is preferred; EMR (Epic) experience and MS Office skills are desirable, CPR certification is preferred, bilingual

Responsibilities

• Sends/receives patient medical records and abstracts new patient records into Epic.
• Sets up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
• Maintains patient autonomy, confidentiality and dignity.
• May assist and/or perform chaperone duties for patient medical procedures as needed.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School Diploma and LPN Diploma Required.

EXPERIENCE

2 years of medical practice experience preferred.

LICENSURE

Current licensure from the State of Connecticut and/or New York (when necessary).

SPECIAL SKILLS

Ability to assist physicians in minor procedures (where applicable). Excellent, organizational, communication, customer service and teamwork skills required. Ability to multi-task is essential. EMR experience preferred and working knowledge of Microsoft office applications required. CPR certification preferred. Bilingual preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

MMR is required. Varivax (chicken pox vaccine) or evidence of prior chicken pox is required. Hepatitis B (or signed declination) is required for those with potential exposure to blood/body fluids. Tdap and influenza vaccination are strongly encouraged.
