Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a multiskilled Plant Operator at the Marshall Steam Station in Terrell, NC. The role requires maintenance qualifications across mechanical, IC&E, and operations, with training in safety, fire, rescue, and other response procedures.

You will perform start-up/shutdowns, monitor performance, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and health standards while working onsite 24/7 as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated mechanical, electrical or I&C experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to wear PPE.
• Two year technical degree preferred for advanced placement.
• Must be able to pass respiratory physical and related safety tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup, shutdown, and continuous operations of coal facility equipment and systems.
• Monitor equipment performance via tests, analysis and report variances.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate plant equipment while following approved procedures.
• Work in all plant areas with safety, teamwork and emergency response in mind.
