Job summary

Duke Energy seeks a Combined Cycle Operator I/II/III in Florida to safely operate and coordinate the generating units on rotating shifts, including HRSGs and balance of plant equipment. The role requires progression through the RREF program and completion of operator qualifications.

The position involves travel, callouts, and the ability to work day or night hours, with a clear path toward advancement to higher operator levels upon program completion.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level operator skills.
• Ability to complete the RREF Development Program for Combined Cycle Operators.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical and I&C issues.
• Competence in power station operations.
• Solid understanding of thermodynamics principles.
• Knowledge of water chemistry functions and related instrument calibration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and operate generating units on rotating shifts to ensure safe, reliable power.
• Perform water chemistry duties as part of plant operations.
• Progress through the Operator Maintenance Qualification program and complete MASS/POSS testing.
