Job summary

Nottingham City Council Housing Services is seeking a Multiskilled Plumber to contribute to good quality rented housing and tenant satisfaction. The role covers installation, repairs and maintenance, and requires working to statutory standards.

The post offers permanent employment, 37 hours per week, with a starting salary of £42,123 rising to £45,529. Based at Harvey Road, NG8 3BB. The closing date is 11 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in all aspects of plumbing and related trades.
• Qualified, certified & trained in a second trade (Joinery, Plastering or Bricklaying).
• Experience in repairs, new build, maintenance or contract environments.
• Ability to use power tools safely and follow safety procedures on and off-site.

About You

The ideal candidate will have: Experience in all aspects of a Plumbing and be qualified, certified & trained in a second trade (Suitable trades include: Joinery, Plastering, and Bricklaying) Experience in repairs, new build, maintenance, or contract environments, including assessing and inspecting jobs, and updating records. The ability to use the necessary power tools and plant safely, as well as the ability to follow all safety procedures on and off-site. Experience of carrying out investigations and tests to identify faults and the root cause of issues, and implement lasting solutions. Ability to use elements of the skills of other general trades to meet the target of first-time fix where it is efficient and appropriate to do so. Ability to demonstrate an organised but flexible approach, and the ability to meet deadlines

About the Role

As an experienced Multiskilled Plumber, you will contribute to the provision of good quality rented housing, and the achievement of high levels of tenant satisfaction, improving the landlord and tenant relationships, and protecting health and safety. You will support the maintenance of assets to meet statutory minimum standards for housing, installation, repair, and maintenance obligations.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week - You will be required to work these hours in accordance with the needs and requirements of the service, between the hours of 6am and 8pm Monday to Friday

Worker Type: Off-site worker

Salary: Grade H - starting salary of £42,123 (level 1), rising to £45,529 (level 4) per annum
