Comunilife is seeking Maintenance Specialists to join a team at various locations across New York City. The role focuses on keeping facilities clean, performing routine repairs, and supporting safety protocols to ensure a welcoming environment for clients. The position is full-time with a generous benefits package and paid time off.

Salary ranges from $18 to $21 per hour, with day shifts. A high school diploma or GED and English proficiency are required; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must understand verbal and written instructions in English.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
• Driver's License is required with a clean record for some locations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the Facility’s interior and exterior entrances for cleanliness (including snow removal and removal of other hazardous conditions).
• Complete Work Orders assigned in an efficient and proficient manner.
• Work in a pleasant and respectful manner with all clients.
• Assist in fire safety and evacuation drills, procedures and training.
• Alert the direct supervisor, Asst. Director, Director or designee, of any unusual occurrences or violation of rules and regulations (i.e., no smoking regulations).
• Carry out cleaning duties as assigned to ensure the building reflects the standard of hygiene outlined and as directed by Comunilife management, including care of floors, bathrooms and public areas.
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs including, but not limited to: Painting, patching and sheet rocking; Light plumbing including unclogging drains and basic plumbing skills; Light electrical (from the wall out) including replacing fixtures and lighting ballast; Lighting in general including bulb and switch plate replacement; Lock repair and replacement; Floor tile repair and installation including base; General carpentry including interior renovation, duct work and tasks as assigned; HVAC system cleaning, filter and belt changes.
