Job summary

Chestnut Labs in Santa Ana, CA, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure smooth operation of facilities and production equipment. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, perform preventive maintenance, and implement repairs and upgrades to improve performance and safety.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in facility and production maintenance, knowledge of boilers, chillers, and refrigeration, and experience with conveyors and CMMS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, vocational training, or related field preferred.
• Certifications or experience in HVAC, refrigeration desired but not required.
• 2-3 years of experience in facility and production maintenance.
• Experience with boilers, chillers, & refrigeration systems desired but not required.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with case erecting and folding systems, including operation and repair.
• OSHA safety standards compliance; LOTO and Arc Flash desired.
• Strong root cause analysis skills for electro/mechanical failures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces.
• Effective communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Own basic hand tools; proficient with power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Navigate MS Office; CMMS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections to minimize downtime.
• Repairs and Modifications: Repair and upgrade machinery for performance and safety.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to safety regulations and SOPs.
• Documentation: Keep records of maintenance and inspections.
• Collaboration: Work with production and maintenance teams to address issues.
• Training and Development: Update skills on new technologies and practices.
