Job summary

The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, AR seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to upkeep buildings, grounds and utilities under Engineering Service leadership. You will perform carpentry, electrical, and mechanical duties across hospital areas, often working from ladders or scaffolding.

The role involves painting, constructing items, installing systems, and operating in varied and sometimes harsh conditions with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds. Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Background investigation required.
• Selective Service registration required for males born after 1959.
• Current driver's license may be required; ability to operate in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform painting and refinishing of furniture and equipment in hospital environments.
• Construct and repair structural items and frames.
• Install, modify and repair utility, supply and disposal systems including water, sewage, gas and related components.
• Work on roofs and perform related carpentry, electrical and mechanical tasks; lift up to 50 pounds.
