Job summary

Vantage Specialty Chemicals is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Gurnee, IL to repair and maintain plant equipment using hand and power tools, precision instruments, and welding and pipefitting techniques. The role requires strong multi-skilled industrial maintenance capabilities and adherence to safety and LOTO procedures.

Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years in a mechanical field and 3–5 years in manufacturing maintenance, with experience in pump maintenance, piping, valves, steam

Qualifications

• High School education.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a mechanical related field is required.
• 3-5 years of applicable maintenance experience in a manufacturing process plant.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment.
• Conduct inspections on safety equipment, process equipment, and forklifts; document findings.
• Obtain safe work permits for maintenance or projects.
• Manage workload to meet deadlines and SOP requirements.
• Recommend changes to Preventive Maintenance Work Orders to improve equipment up time.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and cooperate with team members.
• Communicate with contractors and vendors as required.
• Prepare reports on work performed and parts replaced.
