Vantage Specialty Chemicals in Chicago's Oleo Plant seeks a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment and perform preventive maintenance across the site. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, reading equipment manuals and work orders, following OSHA safety rules, and using lifts and forklifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• City of Chicago Electricians license.
• Trade School Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant wide equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Performs mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of plant wide equipment.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
• Repair and maintain mechanical electrical and instrumentation equipment in the facility as directed by supervisor.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on various equipment.
• Use hand and power tools as required to perform routine equipment maintenance functions.
• Use powered Man lifts and Scissor lifts to gain safe access to equipment.
• Transport and lift equipment using forklift trucks and other specialist equipment.
• Certify plant instruments following established ISO guidelines.
