Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation in Michigan is seeking a skilled millwright to maintain and repair plant machinery and infrastructure to meet ongoing production demands in a 24/7 environment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, rebuild pumps and gearboxes, fabricate sheet metal, install piping, handle ammonia refrigeration, and operate steam systems while adhering to safety and respirator requirements. Shift options include 12-hour days/nights or 4-10s.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 3–5 years maintenance experience with industrial machinery.
• Respirator qualification required; OSHA fit testing and medical clearance.
• Experience with pumps, piping and gear box rebuilds.

Responsibilities

• Complete millwright tasks: install, maintain, repair and refit stationary machinery per specs.
• Rebuild pumps, piping and gear boxes.
• Sheet metal fabrication and construction work to design requirements.
• Plumbing and pipefitting duties including valves and gasketing.
• Refrigeration maintenance for ammonia compressors and ice systems.
• Preventive maintenance: lubrication, inspection, and adjustments.
• Work on steam systems, boilers, steam traps and condensate systems.
• Lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds; follow safety procedures; respirator-qualified.
