Job summary

The State of Indiana seeks a maintenance worker for the National Guard Armory in Martinsville. You will perform cleaning, general maintenance and minor repairs for the facility and grounds, excluding certain military areas.

The role requires carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical repair skills, the ability to read blueprints, and may require CDL within 90 days. A degree is not required, and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and to handle simple mathematical problems.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand schematics.
• Must possess a valid CDL or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• A degree is not required.

Responsibilities

• Routine carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Check heating, AC, kitchen, laundry and maintenance equipment for efficiency and repair as needed.
• Install curtain rods, toilet paper holders, tile, doors and fixtures.
• Check and repair electrical appliances, motors and pumps, fire alarm systems and thermostats.
• Repair locks and provide secure facility and property.
• Assist skilled tradesperson on major projects.
• Workday attendance at assigned worksite is required.
