Job summary

Louisville Metro Government is seeking a versatile maintenance worker to support electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and HVAC technicians on a city-wide facilities team. You will operate hand and power tools, perform basic repairs, and assist with grounds maintenance, ensuring safe, clean, and functional spaces.

Under supervision, you will cut grass, rake leaves, inspect equipment, and help install fixtures while adhering to safety rules and CDL requirements if applicable.

Qualifications

• Six months of residential or commercial building experience (construction, remodeling, renovation, repair or inspection) or carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or structural maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist electricians, plumbers, carpenters and HVAC mechanics in their areas of specialty.
• Operate hand and power tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Perform grounds maintenance duties including mowing, raking leaves, and debris removal.
• Complete work orders describing repairs or maintenance performed to resolve issues.
• Observes and checks equipment operation and performs minor servicing or adjustments.
