Job summary

Mille Lacs Health System is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support clinic operations across its Mille Lacs Health System clinics. The role requires working day shifts with rotating weekends, under the supervision of the clinic Manager, and involves rooming patients, administering vaccines and medications, clerical tasks, and coordinating referrals.

The ideal candidate has BLS, a valid driver's license, and appropriate certification or licensure, plus strong communication and organizational

Qualifications

• Must have BLS Certification.
• Valid driver\'s license; travel between clinics may be necessary.
• Certification or registration with AAMA/AMT/NHA/NCCT or MN Practical Nursing license.
• Knowledge of nursing principles and medical ethics.
• Excellent communication skills across disciplines and levels.
• Attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills.
• Basic computer skills (Word).

Responsibilities

• Room clients: record vitals and document in medical records.
• Administer oral and injectable medications and vaccinations.
• Prepare and route medication refill requests.
• Reception/clerical tasks: scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, prior authorizations, restocking, documentation.
• Vaccine storage and administration per schedules.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs and waived lab testing.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing and referrals with providers.
• Support quality initiatives and committees.
